Educational trail Theresiana is part of an old Austro-Hungarian road built in 1786, in order to better link the towns of Gospić and Karlobag. The educational trail begins at Baške Oštarije (924 m.a.s.l.) and descends to the viewpoint above the village of Konjsko (655 m.a.s.l.). It is 3 kilometers long. This tour is relatively long, and takes approximately two and a half to three hours.
One additional available hiking tour takes approximately one hour and a half. The first third of the route (to Oštarijsko Ždrilo) is the same as the Theresiana route. After that, what follows is an easy ascent to the peak of Debela kosa (972 m.a.s.l.). The climb is not demanding, and does not require a substantial fitness level. The route then proceeds along the ridge of Debela kosa, offering magnificent views of the Adriatic and the island of Pag on one side, and of the valley of Baške Oštarije on the other. Finally, the trail descends to the mountain pass of Oštarijska vrata. In 2007, the Ministry of Culture declared the Theresiana Road a protected cultural object.

Note: The trail is a hiking trail only. There is also a possibility for taking a longer tour: if you do not wish to take the same route back to Baške Oštarije, you need to arrange for a car pickup at Sušanj Cesarički.
For visitors interested in shorter tour: it is possible to get back to the starting point by taking the loop trail passing below Debela kosa and exiting to Oštarijsko Ždrilo and Theresiana.
